Again, I don't have any digital pictures of the great room as it was when we bought the house, but I will scan in some photos as soon as I can. Originally it was painted bright yellow and had no crown molding.
Here you see the hallway. It was much narrower,
but my
husband opened it up and made it into an archway.
We made templates out of cardboard
and then cut the shape.
The inside of the arch was made with a strip of drywall,
partially cut in sections to allow the curve.
We did the same with the entry into the kitchen

I know it looks like a war zone, but we got used to living in shambles for a long time while work was in progess.

And AFTER!!!
This is a view of the front door. The arches
turned out so well! We replaced the front door too.

I am continuing
around the room. To the left of the fron door is the picture window and
the fireplace.
This is our "family Room". I hate the window treatments.
This is my 2nd attempt at style. I have some ideas that I want to try
this fall.
Oh, that's Max our doberman.

Here is our dining room. This is oppisite the
front door.
I have gotten some great ideas from this board and I am going to be
adding a decorative rod
and panels to this window and a window seat cusion with pillows.
Thats Minnie Pearl the Yorkie Poo under the table.

This is the view of
the back door. Big difference form our war zone before!
You can see the other finish arch to the kitchen from here.

Here is a view of
the wall leading to the kitchen and the hallway to the beadrooms.
This is my favortte thing in the room. I love the curio (Pulaski) and
all of the things inside
