Obscure British Actors and How to Appreciate Them
A Practical Guide to Coping with the Obscurity

Ever see a British movie and think to yourself, Oy, that guys rather cute. I wish we could see more of him over here in the States (or where-ever you are)? Yes, I know, these urges are difficult to deal with, what with them being over there and you being over here. However, it is possible to sustain a lively interest in a relatively unsung British actorone simply needs gentle guidance and support. Its important that you dont face your obsession aloneseek the relief of a group of fellow fans or kindred spirits. The following accounts, though they may be shocking, detail how this may be accomplished:

Ioan Gruffudd
Capabilities: the Glare of Doom, looks fetching in an otherwise girly circa late eighteenth century style straw hat, swims well under unusual conditions, skilled at swordplay, perfect pitch for commanding FIYAH!, and being Welsh (hes quite proud of it himself, and therefore deserves attention for it)

If youre a Ioan Gruffudd fan, you were probably first struck by his performance in A&Es Horatio Hornblower series(es). Or, perhaps, if youre an even more recent fan, your affections could have been dictated by his role in the CBS show, Century City (but not, however, by his American accent. Oh, please, please, make him stop!!!). However, one could say to ones self, I wish I could see more of his chocolate brown eyes! I mean, his acting capabilities without even realizing the opportunities in front of ones self. Consider, for a moment, PBS. This public (free!) channel may look like an artistic and educational endeavor by daydont be fooled, by night its also a prime showroom for Obscure British Actors, many of whom can claim one or two Masterpiece Theatre adaptations to their name. Our own Ioan Gruffudd starred as Pip in Great Expectations, and also featured in The Forsyte Saga as Philip Bosinney. And keep your eyes openhe may be appearing any time in a literary masterpiece in a role that doesnt claim the same first name!
