Saphire's story is an interesting one. In this image most everything has a symbol, but I'm getting ahead of myself. First of all I must say Saphire is not human. She is a shapeshifter and more specifically a Shadowdancer. Shadowdancers are anchient guardians to the crown. Their true for is one that is very often mistaken for a dragon. In this image, the creature behind her is her true image. What separates them from dragons is their slim form and lack of scales. Shadowdancers are always dark colors. They are called Shadowdancer's Because they travel mostly at night and in anyform are campable of 'disappearing' into the shadows. It is said they dance with the night to become part of it. I reality, their dark coloring makes them experts at camofloge. Shadowdancers have another animal form. Saphire's is that of a Karrombii. With this form she can move easily over rough forested areas. Because of their skills disappearing into the night, they are expert assasins. The flaw of a
Shadowdancer is that they have no sense of right or wrong. They are born knowing only they must serve the crown. They are fiercly loyal. This can be good and bad at the same time. If a good leader is ruling then the Shadowdancer's will protect them until death. But if a tyrant is ruling, they will kill without mercey.
In their human form Shadowdancers have a unique look. They always have black hair and piercing eyes of various colors depending on their true form. Saphire is a midnight blue so she has ice blue eyes. Their features are chisled and unique. Because of this they always wear masks when committing an assaination. When a Shadowdancer is born they are always named for their color, and always named after a precious stone. While the word sapphire and the name Saphire are spelled differently she is named for the gem.
Now to her personal story. In Saphire's time the clan of Shadowdancers is a small one. Their are only 5 left. Onyx, Emerald, Saphire, CatsEye, Topaz, and Garnet. The prince of the Shadowdancers is Onyx, (he's going to be my next drawing ) Onyx has used an oracle to figure out how to preserve their species. According to tthe oracle, Through true blue and faith untrue, the white flame and green shall gain, Through this pair a queen shall be born for a prince so rare. (yes cheesy ryhme) anyway, with so few left he had to think quickly. the Blue was obviously Saphire considering she was the only unbonded female that was at the right age to have children. With the color green mentioned Onyx appointed Emerald to be with Saphire in order for a child to be born to carry on the species. This would have worked if it had not been for Saphire and Onyx's love for each other. ....SO what will happen?? I have no idea but if I figure something out I'll be sure to put it here first :)
