| This is my favorite of all the others. Hravani, (H'Vanii) is the character I have drawn the most and I dentify with the best. The whole story is somewhat set in the Dragonlance world, because I like their system of magics and classifications. She is a red mage meaning she has a neutral alignment. She cares very little for the meddlings around her and only wishes to be alone. Her story starts when she was young, she was told most of her life that both her parents were killed in a fire. She was appointed by the council that she be raised by foster parents of their chosing. H'Vanii has but one memory of her mother, that being them sitting beside the river and talking about the force of magic. Hravani grows up in this community relativly poor, and by class restrictions she is banned from learning the art. She learns anyway by spying on the other children being taught. Hravani knows in her heart she is different and muct learn magic in order to discover her purpose. When she comes of age her Foster parents give her a chest that has a great collection of books from her mother and a note from her mother. Hravani is confused by the note because it speaks as if her mother knew she was going to die, when she had been told all her life it had ben an accident. Time passes and wars come and go as they often do. Hravani grows into a young elfmadian. One night she has a dream where three different forces call to her. In the drem she encounters a path that splits three ways. At the beginning of each path way sits an animal. In the dream Hravani knows that one is the safest, but slowest, the one on the left. One is faster but more dangerous, the one on the right. The other is one of her own choosing and could end any number of ways. At the safe path sits a huge white owl, the middle path has a brilliant red fox, and across the right path stretches a sleek black panther. As Hravani ponders the three she begins to understand. The Gods of magic are pulling her, wanting her to finally make up her mind as to which way she will go. She feels hot whispers ine ach ear, both promissing different but disirable things. The Owl speaks of goodness, and purity, white the Panther speaks of Power, and revenge. The Fox tell Hravani nothing as the other two animals argue for what she will do. She steps confidenly on to the middle road, knowing she shall do nothing good or evil with her life, she will simply strive for balance and peace. The animals and the dream disapear as she travels this way. Soon after this dream she takes up with the Red moon, and she encounters a red fox, exactly like the one in her dream. The fox never leaves her side and lives much longer than it should. She names the new familiar Nairya, elven for flames. With her familiar, she moves to the edges of the city, enjoying the nature and solitude it offers. When she is about the take the Test for mages, for the first time, the elven council, fearful of the outside world, enclose themselves in a magic barrier. No one can get in no one can get out. Hravani was outraged and become more seclusive. More years go by, until a human women with a small army manages to break through, (this part is taken out of the Dragonlance war of souls series) The woman is named Mina and she procedes to gain the confidence of the elves who live in the area. Hravani makes no attempt to see the human face to face, and distrusts her. Mina leaves for other places and leaves another army there to hold the elven city. This is where things fell apart. (my part again) Hravani and the rest of the elves are captured except for a small group that escapes. Hravani is but into slavery with the rest of her kin. She makes the mistake of using magic against them and they fit her with special handcuffs that prevent her from using them in such a fine tuned manner. She is inducted into the camp by cutting her hair to her shoulders, being striped of her clothes and being Branded with a camp number encircled my thorny vines. Her number is 29. She is given simple clothes and put to work. She begins to gain her nerve and bravely comfronts the captian of the army with harsh words in front of her peers. She unexpectedly comes across no back up and it left alone. She is then seen as a trouble maker and is shifted to the brothels as a whore. Her branded is added to with a sword covered in vines. She is raped once and when that does not break her spirit and defiance, the Captian takes it upon himslef to rid her of her attitude. She is bruetally beated and raped. Her bones broken, an injury to her head and her mind shattered. The captian's assistant Kiros, who is a wild elf with little cares for the world'sproblems, he takes her to be healed somehow. Though he never meets her face to face he sees her recovery and her madness. At one point she attacks him scratching his arms then goes into a fitful trance where she speaks in elven. As he listened to her words he began to understand what she went through and how he has to help. When Hravani finally makes it to the conscious and real world, her entire personality had shifted. Other than suffering intense hallucinatioins she has to battle with insanity to function. She became nervous and never looked people in the eye. She's high strung and trusts no one. After she was released from the infirmary, Kiros had her brought to his quarters. There he released her, stabbing himself in the shoulder to make it appear there had been a struggle. She runs and soon meets up with Nairya. She casts a teleportion spell, which is displaced by a slash to her stomach from a guard that had caught up with her. Kiros fought the guard and killed him, turning to see Hravani gone. No one knows exactly where H'Vanii ended up or what she did, but she was not seen again until monthes later. She was heading back to her home when she came across a town that had been burned to the ground, she finds there Kiros WHo had been left there to die by his commander for disobeying orders. Hravani recognizes him but is not sure of who he is. She unties him from the post and leads him to a place where he can rest. SHe then tells him she could use an escourt and says she will hire him because he had helped her before. They make the long journey back to her home, along the way they become good friends. (and yes as soon as I get the design right, there will be a Kiros picture). They soon end up back at her homeland, where they meet up with the escaped group of elves, fighting for their homes. The soldiers capture that captian who hurt Hravani. She asks to speak with him alone and she kills him in cold blood. The elves are outraged and put her on trial for treason.............................. What will happen?? ;) AS you can see Hravani's stpry is that of a sad one, her life has been difficult for so long and can no longer trut people. Her story continues along this sad and dim path, but an unexpected light comes to help her along the way. |
