| PSALM 91 |
![]() |
| Thank You Father that I dwell in the secret place of the most High, and that I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of you Lord, You are my refuge and my fortress: my God; in you will I trust. Surely you shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. You shall cover me with your feathers and under your wings shall I trust: Your truth is my shield and buckler. I will not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day. Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand; but it will not come nigh to me. Only with my eyes shall I behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because I have made you my Lord, you are my refuge, even the most High, my habitation. There shall no evil befall me, neither will any plague come nigh my dwelling. For you will give your angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways. They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone. I shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall I trample under my feet. Because you have set your love upon me, therefore you will deliver me. You will set me on high because I have known your name. I will call upon you, and you will answer me, you will be with me in trouble: you will deliver me, and honour me. With long life you will satisfy me and show me your salvation. |
| Most people, and this means Christians, do not even know what prayer really is and why it was instituted, so of course, they do not know there is a right way and a wrong way to pray. Nor do they know there are different prayers for different circumstances. It is no wonder they never get their prayers answered! Prayer is a means to communication and contact with your heavenly Father. Combined with faith in God's Word, prayer is a channel through which and by which His power can be released to meet our needs, allowing Him to get involved in our circumstances. God does not hear your prayer because you cry, whine, beg, or because you are on your knees, nor because you are sincere. He does not even hear you because you are in a church building. God hears your prayer because you pray in line with His Word. The prayer below was taken from the 91 st. Psalm, and is prayed as if you were talking to the Lord making it first person - and it is Gods will to do for you the same as He did for the writer of the Psalms _ King David. |
