Growing up on a Farm isn't all that bad,. when you have five brothers and a sister. Going to school in a horse and buggie with my brothers, then a car as the boys got older. Playing softball and basketball, the school plays and the dances. I never missed a dance with five brothers. The war and all my brothers leaving and then the great time as they all returned (Thanks to their guardian Angels) After graduation It was off to the Holy Cross School of Nursing for three years of training with the Sisters of Charity. The gentle Sisters could be as unyielding as master sargents, when it came to enforcing discipline. Presumably, if you could stay out of trouble when off duty, you could keep your patients out of trouble when on duty. A schedule of twelve-hour shifts, with only one day off a week, left you with little time or energy for any other activities. But this to came to pass, and a beginning of a long career in the healthcare field. Between falling in love, marriage and having five children I went back to University and received my BS in nursing and my Masters in Psycho-Social Nursing. By this time all the children were all in high school or college, so I continued to work for another fourteen years. I retired when Robbie's company moved him to Oregon.
The McAndrews or McAindriu (Aindriu is Irish for Andrew. McAndrews is associated with the personal name Andrew and McAndrews simply means "Son of Andrews" There were two main branches of the McAndrews family, one in County Mayo and the other in County Kerry. We are from the Mayo family and still have people there. The association of the family with this area is testified by the place name "BallymacAndrews" near Tralee
It all began on a farming cattle ranch on the windy prairies in southern Alberta, Canada. When Anastasia Mary Jane was the first girl born to Albert and Anastasia McAndrews; an Irish Catholic family with four boys. I was the Queen. Then they had another boy after me. Then came my little sister and I had to start to share. There are things you can only share with sisters.
We've never had to look far to find our angels. Angels have never really been out of reach. We can always discover angels from the inside-out because it is the angel inside us who can point the way to all our other angels. Think of a time when you loved so totally you could not express it for there were no words invented to translate the feeling, and the time when the earth, and God, and you were so aligned that you knew it was your faith in all it's glory. "Your Angel was quiding you" Please remember when you say I don't belive in Angels somewhere a Angel leaves the world - Forever!
I said a prayer for you today and know God must have heard. I felt the answer in my heart although He spoke not a word. I didn't ask for wealth or fame I knew you wouldn't mind. I asked for priceless treasure rare of a more lasting kind. I prayed that He'd be near you at the start of each new day to grant you health and blessings fair and friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you, in all things great and small, but that you'd know his loving care I prayed for most of all.

Angel Sunrise Have you ever seen a sunrise That was streaked with pink and gold It's called an Angel Sunrise Is the story I've been told. They streak the sky with color To lift our spirits high They paint with lovely colors As through the clouds they fly. These Angels have a special task They brighten up our day Our skies they color lovely To begin a golden day. The next time that you see a sky That's gold and pink and bright Look carefully and you might see The Angel that's in flight.
