The Year is 235 A.C. (After Cell) The human population is on it’s knees, and the only thing we have to thank for our continued survival is that this planet possesses no more spaceships. I guess we should thank one of the earliest victims of the all-powerful android, Buruma. In an act of defiance once her husband, Vejita, was killed, she personally oversaw the destruction of all existing spaceships, and the halt of their production. Because of this, Cell cannot get off this planet and completely destroy it, saving those humans that can hide well, as well as the races on other planets. The only drawback is that we are being slowly, systematically exterminated, due to lack of spaceships for ourselves. All we can do now is hope. And pray for a miracle.
---- Excerpt from the journal of Junglee, one of the last surviving humans
The air was cold and bleak. But then again, since Cell was alone as one of the most powerful beings on Chikyuu, the planet had always been cold. Muten Roshi shivered, just a bit, and once again wondered if it was from cold…or fear. So far, he had been able to hide among the other humans, but for how long? Oh things had changed for the worst since the death of Gohan…of Goku. They had been the planet’s last line of defense, but even they fell, oh those so many years ago. If only they were still here….
But there was no use wishing for that. After all, if wishes were women, he’d be ecstatic. No, he must remain hidden at all costs, and find a way to defeat Cell, even though he couldn’t do that himself. If Buruma were alive, they could build the time ship that the other Trunks, Mirai Trunks, came in, and…but it was useless, Buruma was dead, and Capsule Corporation destroyed. But there had to be something to do…‘if only’s would get him nowhere…
While he was puzzling over what to do, he didn’t sense the inhuman form lurking behind him….
Ch 1: Once We Were Angels…
Dende sighed as he once again looked over the lip of the tower’s floor. While he couldn’t actually see Chikyuu, in his mind’s eye he could see the beautiful green green and blue planet. The green and blue planet marked with physical and emotional scars. If only there was a way to….
"Kami-sama!!" Dende’s head jerked up as he slowly turned to see who would be visiting him at this time. It was only his long years as the god of a planet long considered a ‘lost cause’ that kept him from losing his cool.
"Kuririn, what are you doing here?" He questioned calmly, even as his brain worked at a furious pace. He had known about the final fates of the Z senshi, that all of them had been granted the position as angels, except for Vejita. That smug, arrogant Saiya-jin had, instead, found himself in hell. Even as his brain tried to contemplate why an angel had been let out of heaven, another part of his mind took in the way his one-time friend put a hand behind his head, as he looked down at his feet. His feet were shifting nervously, even as his wings continuously furled and unfurled. It was obvious that the little bald man was worried about something.
"Well, it is…what I men to say…is that…they’ve vanished!" He finally blurted out, his eyes going wide.
"Vanished? Who has vanished?"
"Goku, Gohan, and…Vejita." Kuririn confessed, and Dende’s eyes went wide. Escaping from Hell was nearly impossible…and for angels just to vanish…he stiffened. Could it be…
Kuririn watched Dende’s expression change from shock, to amazement, and then finally happiness. "Uhh…Kami-sama?" No answer. "Dende?" The namek turned back to him, the smile on his face never wavering. "What are you – "
"I think Chikyuu will pull out after all." Dende stated, interrupting his companion.
"Huh? Whadda ya mean by that?" But the namek wouldn’t give the reason behind his mysterious comment, and Kuririn soon left, the puzzled look still gracing his features.
And somewhere on Chikyuu, two different families cried out in joy, blending in with a chorus of three baby wails. Those cries of joy, however, soon turned into cries of horror. And anguish.

16 years later…
"Catch me if you can!" A mysterious boy shouted, racing down the street. Astonished and enraged cries followed the boy as the pedestrians in his way tried to move as quickly as possible.
"That’s not fair, Carrot!! You got a head start!" A boy, nearly identical to the first, exclaimed. It was obvious that the two were twins, they were even around the same height! Carrot just laughed.
"All’s fair in love and war, Rice!!" He called back over his shoulder. Suddenly, Carrot felt a small bump, but upon turning around, there was nothing but clear street, if you ignored the people around it. Cell had gotten a bit lax in his extermination campaign, allowing the human population to thrive once more. There were many speculations as to the why of the matter, but no one was brave enough, or stupid enough for that matter, to go ask. Rice sighed as he dodged over a fallen lamppost, the newest rubble in what passed for a city these days. However, Carrot’s small hesitation cost him, and he finally fell to the ground as his strength suddenly left him. "Itai!! Not the tail! Not the tail!" Rice grinned as he released his brother’s tail, being very careful to keep his wrapped around his waist, just in case Carrot decided to return the favor. However, the thought never crossed Carrots mind as he engaged in a vain attempt to soothe the throb by blowing gently on his violated appendage.
"Well?" Rice asked, his grin growing wider as his brother gave him a wary eye.
"Well what?" Carrot asked, tucking his tail around his waist in an imitation of his brother, being careful not to aggravate the pulsing end.
"Are we going to go home, or what? I was just about to cook dinner when you decided to snitch some of the ingredients." Carrot gave his brother a sheepish grin as he tucked his left hand behind his head.
"Gomen, gomen, but I was just so hungry I couldn’t help myself!" Rice gave his brother an exasperated look. He opened his mouth to reply, when he felt something shove into his side. Whirling, and looking for his attacker, he noticed a frail-looking old man rise to a kneeling position. A sudden surge of respect, as well as a feeling of familiarity, out did Rice’s aggravation, and he knelt down to help the man to his feet.
"Hey, old timer, you okay?" Carrot asked, and Rice had to quelch a sudden sigh of vexation, the need to express his disappointment at his brother’s lack of manners nearly getting the best of him.
However, the old man sprung to his feet before Rice could even begin to help him. "I’m just fine," he murmured absently, "just…fine," the old man stopped and stared at the twins’ waists. Rice sucked in his breath to give the old man a response to the inevitable question or comment that would arise, when something unexpected happened. The man didn’t comment. Instead, he gave the twins a brief smile, brushed off some invisible dust, stated his good-byes, and left. Rice stared after the man, clearly surprised. So, because of his state of shock, he nearly jumped when he felt a hand clamp on his shoulder. Turning his head, he saw his brother giving him a gentle smile.
"Come on, its time to go home, ne?" Carrot’s face suddenly split in a huge, childish grin. "Besides, I need food! I’m starved!" Rice suddenly burst out laughing at his brother’s statement, which only brought a look of confusion on Carrot’s face. The confused look, in turn, caused Rice to laugh harder, which only made Carrot’s confusion greater, which made Rice laugh even harder. And so, the cycle continued until Rice started wheezing as if he had run for miles, and if he had a mirror, he was sure his face would be blue. Still chuckling a bit, Rice slung an arm across his brother’s shoulders, and together, the two made their way home.

Roshi watched as the two boys
headed off, his mind whirling with possibilities. That both boys were saiya-jin,
that he was sure of. After all, even after all these years, he still knew
the look of a saiyan tail when he saw one. "Th…those were…sa…sa…saiya-jin…"
Oolong stammered. Roshi nodded in agreement, not bothering to look down
at his porky companion. It had been a surprise for both of them, he had
never known that Oolong had a long life span…or was it immortality? However,
that thought was quickly brushed aside as his mind schemed up ways to use
the two saiya-jin to free this planet. Many people had prayed for a miracle
to happen, and after all these years, Kami-sama had finally granted their
wish. A miracle had occurred.
‘And like fallen angels they shall descend,
Returning to the land of their birth.
And even without the wings and halo,
They shall have the healing power of the heavens
in their touch.’
Ossu! Ora, Carrot! Ano…that crazy old man that bumped into Rice has followed us. But what could he possibly want?…………Saiya-jin? Who’s that? And what’s with this promise of training? Find all this out and more in the next episode of Dragon Ball FA: Roshi makes his move! A new hope is born…
