AUTHOR'S NOTES:  Since I have been incapable of writing a short story since I 
was a small child, the following will be a multi-part long story.  Somehow the 
plot bunnies keep growing and won't crawl out of my head until they have all 
been incorporated into the story (which makes for some awfully long sleepless 
nights!).  This is also the first time since high school English that I have 
actually allowed someone else to read what I have written - very low self esteem 
here.  I really would appreciate any feedback - good or bad (but please be 
gently with this rather fragile ego........)

DISCLAIMER:  I am not nor have I ever been a huge history buff so there will be 
many plot contrivances in this story.  And I also couldn't find any decent maps 
of France or England from the 1800's so I may have included cities that hadn't 
existed yet (if anyone knows where I can find some, please let me know for 
future stories).  Please bear with the inaccuracies and remember it's a sci-fi / 
fantasy piece, which means anything can happen, and usually does.
