The main problem that a lot of people have with the Legend of Zelda series is that the chronology of the games is sketchy at best. Was Ocarina of Time the first game, or The Minish Cap? Is Twilight Princess the last, or was it The Adventure of Link? It's really, really hard to figure it out for sure, so a lot of people develop complex timeline theories.

I am not one of them.

I went in a different direction. What if...work with me here...what if the chronology doesn't entirely matter because Link's the same guy every time? Oh, I know, hundreds of years can pass between one game and the next. I'm not talking about immortality, I'm talking about reincarnation. Suppose Link and Zelda, as part of their destiny of being chosen by the goddesses, are reborn continuously in order to vanquish Ganondorf. How might this affect their lives and the way they interact? What if it's for this reason they've never been able to have the romance that so many fans believe they should?

And thus came the fanfic.

Set during the events of Twilight Princess, the story shows Link gradually coming to remember all of his past lives (the previous games, in other words) and his enduring love for Zelda. What will it take to allow them to finally be together? Naturally, it includes spoilers for all of the games, and particularly TP, so you have been warned!
