Rhiannon's Questions & Answers Page

Merry Meet! Please take a moment to read over this page, before emailing me. I have received hundreds of emails from people who go to my website and have further questions. Many of them are common questions, so I figured I would address them here. Some questions are good questions and in no way am I discouraging people to ask them. The questions on this page are some of the more ridiculous questions I receive--but I receive them a lot, so I figured I'd make this page.

"Will I have *special powers* if I become a witch?
"Can you send me spells for revenge, etc.?"
"If I'm a male witch, am I a Warlock?"
"Do we have to perform rituals in English? Or can it be our own language?"
"When can we start writing our own rituals? Do we have to practice more, before we write?"
"I'm a natural witch and a lot happens to me."
"The problem is I love magic but I'm Catholic and I also love god..."
"Am I witch if someone in my family is [*supposedly*] a witch?"
"When can I start praciticing witchcraft?"
"I can see faeries and want to know how to stop them and talk to them or so they would leave me alone."

Will I have "special powers" if I become a witch?
NO! WITCHCRAFT IS A RELIGION. It is not a game. It is not like "The Craft," "Charmed," "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" or anything like Willow on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." That is Hollywood, nowhere NEAR close to being accurate. Witchcraft is an ancient religion that has been revitalized and modernized, but it is STILL a religion.

Can you send me spells for revenge, etc.?
NO! Spells are like prayers. They are not ways to get what you want, or get revenge on someone else. Whether you chose to disregard the Wiccan Rede, or karma, is your choice, but I will not help you. I do not send people spells either. There are plently on this website.

If I'm a male witch, am I a Warlock?
No! There is no such thing as a warlock, so don't ask.
Below is an actual email I received from someone asking this very question, and she did not like my answer. :) Normally I would not post a message on my site, but this one is just so hilarious I had to share!
"FOR YOUR INFORMATION THERE COULD BE A SUCH THING AS A WARLOCK. IF THERE ARE FEMALE WITCHES THERE COULD BE MALE WITCHES A.K.A WARLOCKS. ANY WAY WHY AM I MAILING YOU ASKING YOU QUESTIONS YOU'VE GOT AN I.Q. OF A DUMD BROAD. THAT'S PROBABLY WHAT YOU ARE TOO. YOU SHOULD STOP BEING A WITCH YOUR NOT STRONG ENOUGH. YOU PROBABLY NEVER READ A BOOK IN YOUR LIFE. HERES A TIP HONEY READ ONE MAY BE YOU'LL GET SMARTER."
Hmmmmm.....okay, well if I am so dumb then why did you write to me in the first place? lol!!! But seriously...I do not mind getting emails from people who have questions, BUT please do not waste my time if you aren't going to be mature, and listen to the answer!! I really could care less if you become Wiccan or not, but if you are, do it right.

Do we have to perform rituals in English? Or can it be our own language?
Um...what? I'm not even sure how to answer this question! Like I stated above, witchcraft is a religion, not a game, and no--it is not like TV and movie witchcraft! So yes, it should be in English, or whatever language you speak. What would be the point of making up your *own* language??

When can we start writing our own rituals? Do we have to practice more, before we write?
Yes, it is important to read and practice and study before starting to do spells. For me, I studied witchcraft for about 4 or 5 years before I even started doing actual rituals and spells! Then, I started writing my own. I think writing your own is a more advanced part of spell casting.

"I'm a natural witch and a lot happens to me."
(This is an actual email I received). To answer the question, there is no such thing as a "natural witch"--again, that is a creation of Hollywood and trendy people. Witchcraft is a religion, some people may be better at it than others, but it isn't a "natural" thing.

"The problem is I love magic but I'm Catholic and I also love god..."
You'll have to make a choice. Being an ex-Catholic myself, I know from experience that Catholicism condemns magick, witchcraft, and anything to do with it (even though Jesus performed magick--go figure!). Being an eclectic witch, I worship things from Buddhism, Hinduism, as well as pagan. It's up to you how you want to incorporate your faith.

"Am I witch if someone in my family is [*supposedly*] a witch?"
I get this question of heredity endlessly. The answer is NO!! Many people have this theory of hereditary witchcraft, which is not possible, because AGAIN WITCHCRAFT IS A RELIGION. If someone is born into a Catholic family, even if they are baptised, they are not "hereditary Catholics." They eventually choose to be Catholic, or not to be. The same is with witchcraft.

"When can I start praciticing witchcraft?"
READ BOOKS. There are plenty on my website or at amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, etc. Witchcraft is a religion, just like when Jews are preparing for their Bar Mitzvah, they LEARN and READ and STUDY. It is the same for witchcraft. There are so many things that you need to know before starting witchcraft in anyway.

"I can see faeries and want to know how to stop them and talk to them or so they would leave me alone."
Yes, I have gotten emails about this before. I am the wrong person to ask about this. Being a level-headed person and not really believing in faeries and unicorns, etc.

"I belong to a coven and the coven members are not getting along/don't agree on things, etc.etc..."
The point of covens is to work together towards a common goal, which SHOULD be spiritual discovery and growth. If you are feeling like your coven is striving towards something else, or if you don't agree with things, then leave. You don't have to belong to a coven in order to be a witch.

Now, if you have other questions other than these,
or if you are still confused by my answers,
feel free to write to me.
HOWEVER, DO NOT WRITE TO ME TO BITCH AND MOAN ABOUT SOMETHING ON MY SITE! I AM NOT INTERESTED AND I WILL PROMPTLY BLOCK YOUR ADDRESS thus keeping you from asking any REAL questions I may help you with.
