| Past Sirius Black was part of a pureblood family who disliked all Muggle-borns and Muggles, and where mainly composed of Slytherins. It is suspected that Sirius was sorted into Gryffindor, much to his family's dismay. His best friends were James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew, who were all in the same year as him. They were known as notorious pranksters. He, along with James and Peter, became an animagus in his fifth year, to help their werewolf friend, Remus. Sirius took on the form of a black dog. Also in this year, Sirius played a prank on Snape that nearly got Snape killed; Sirius told him how to get into the shrieking shack, while a full grown werewolf was in it. Luckily, James Potter was able to pull Snape back before he was harmed. Sirius ran away from his home at sixteen years of age, and ended up living at the Potter's for a year, adopted as sort of a second son. At age seventeen he aquired his own house. He was part of the Order of the Phoenix. After school, his best friend, James, married Lily Evans, and the two had a son named Harry. Sirius was named the child's godfather. He was also named the Potter's secret keeper, but they secretly switched to Peter Pettigrew at the last minute, telling no one. Peter betrayed the Potters to their death, and only Harry survived, destroying Voldemort, Peter's master, in the process. Sirius hunted down Peter in the street, but Peter got the best of him, crying out "James and Lily! How could you Sirius?" and blew the street apart, cutting off one of his fingers, so it looked like Sirius had killed him, along with the 12 muggles that died in the blast. Sirius lost sanity for a small while, and began laughing, before being carted off to Azkaban. 12 years later, Sirius Black escaped Azkaban after finding out the Peter was hiding at Hogwarts in his Animagus form.This caused mass chaos and panic in the Wizarding Society, but no one was able to catch him. At Hogwarts he tried to kill Peter by getting into the Gryffindor Dorm rooms, but both times failed. Finally, he met up with Harry, Ron (The owner of Pettigrew), and Hermione in the shrieking shack. After a bit of a tustle, involving Remus Lupin and Serverus Snape, Sirius finally got to explain the real story to Harry. Peter was captured, but escaped when Remus Lupin transformed into a Werewolf on school grounds. Harry fought off a hoard of dementors, and he, Hermione, and Ron were taken to the hospitial wing, while Sirius was captured. In an effort to save Sirius, Harry and Hermione went back in time, saving a hippogriff from death and using him to let Sirius escape. Sirius spent the next year running around as a stray dog, living in various places along with Buckbeak, the hippogriff. The year after that he went on a mission for Dumbledore to alert members of the Order of the Pheonix of the the coming of Voldemort, then spent the rest living in his parent's old house. Then, when Harry is tricked by Voldemort into thinking that he's been captured, he goes off to save Harry from the ambush, and ends up in a duel with his cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, who hits him with a stunning spell, causing him to fall back through a strange archway and disappear. |
