Gatalina is a desert planet: harsh and unforgiving. Like its men. Gatalina was named after the woman who found it. Who knew that her discovered planet would become the Mecca for women-beaters and slave traders? Gatalina had a self-defense, just in case things ever got out of hand. The Mortal-Goddesses, 4 women with powers locked away inside them, controled by the hands of Fate and the Goddess Anahida. Kat Laudd is a Mortal-Goddess. Running from her past, she was one of the few women to escape Gatalina and gain the Freedom Tattoo.
Kat cannot escape destiny, however. She and her friends, the crew of the Fervent must make an emergency landing on her terrible home planet...and she must face what she has avoided for so many years...
Now, Kat and the other Mortal-Goddesses, who were forbidden by Holy Laws to ever meet, send messages and plan the Defiance, a period of time where women are free. There has been no Defiance for nearly 40 years, and women have all but forgotten the feel of freedom. And with the Defiance, shall come the Gathering...the revolution to change the world...
