Tattered Earth: Realm of Xanthis
Xanthis�
A land of both fantastic beauty, and grand horrors; all seems to be packed into this small island. It is a world where things can be as normal as the sun raising every morning to greet her people, or as odd as a green moon that chases after the sun in an endless chase, or even to cities which are like that of an eternal night where the darkness that looms over it never lifts.
The land of Xanthis has three distinct parts to it, with a fourth which is only able to be described as a mix of all three. The northern area of the land is covered in a vast forest area, with spotted plains and numerous streams and lakes. The eastern area is a rocky area, with deserts, and forests that seem to always hover near a death like state. The southern area is grass land with light forests and a few spotted islands, and is the only area of all of the land that has access to the ocean between Tarrah and Xanthis. The western area is covered in a great mountain range with scattered forest, as well as what looks like they were once valleys of the mountains that are now lakes, with streams running down the mountains.
Ricori is the northern area, its beautiful forest spans great distance. The land in the north is covered with a great many lakes, streams and water falls. It is known to be watched over by the Goddess of Light and Water Ayria. It is a land which brings forth people of great good to help and aid in the worlds troubles. The land is surrounded on one side with a vast desert on the east, and to the west the great mountain range, upon the side of the land that meets the ocean is a steep impassable cliff upon which any who try to reach the bottom find their death. The one lone oddity of the Ricori is the single mountain which is thought to be in the center of the land.
Zunlerg is the eastern area, the land is surround on nearly all sides by desert. That which is not desert is a dark rocky terrain which the light of the sun seems to barely be able to lighten during the day. The few spotted forest have a nearly skeleton like look to them with a almost death like appearance at all times of the year. It is this land which Preeg Lord of Darkness and Death is known to watch. The land brings from it people that are dark, and sometimes horrible in their ways. It is from this place that the first beings of undeath are said to come from, the spells of life that went wrong twisted the being into an ever eternal walking death corpse. A lone large tree which can be seen from much of Xanthis stands out looking like a great skeletal hand reaching out into the heavens from the ground.
Kaiko is the southern most land. It is the only area of Xanthis that is not covered in sheer cliffs which bring death. It is a spotted rural area with a few small forest and hilly areas. It holds with it a few islands as well as a cultural center for all of Xanthis, Crossroad, as well as Kaiko Port. This land area is not known to have any one god that watches over it and is truly the smallest of all of the areas in Xanthis.
The Dragon Spine Mountains is the western area of the land. It is a place rich in all wild life and one which magic has always seemed to go awry. Despite its chaotic appearance and nature these mountains seem to be the most balanced point from all of Xanthis. It is said that it is because the land I watched by the Lord of Chaos and Balance, Janarah. In many of the valleys of the mountains lay the spotted forest, as well as lakes which where filled in by some great event in the worlds past with water. It is said that the greatest of the lakes is Crystalmar Lake which is surrounded and thought to be guarded by the town of Lakewood.
