Unicorn~Fabulous beast resembling a horse, with a long, slender horn projecting from it's forehead. Unicorns were described by Aristotle and Pliny. Their horns were traditionally a sure antidote to poison, and medieval rulers valued a cup made from a unicorn's horn or a potion made from ground horn. Supposedly, the unicorn could be caught and tamed only by a virgin in whose lap he would at once gently lay his head. ~ |

The Unicorn is a unique creature of myth and legend. The beauty of the unicorn has inspired artists, musicians and poets throughout the world. The combination of strength and gentleness fascinates our human imaginations. In Western cultures the unicorn symbolizes solitude and purity. While in Oriental cultures it symbolizes good fortune and wisdom. Even now it seems that unicorns must be real. Maybe in a peaceful, far off corner of the world a weary traveler stops to refresh himself at a tranquil pool... In the rosy light of sunset, a glorious creature with delicate hooves, silently steps to the water, dips it's spiral horn and drinks. A legend? A wish? A dream? All of these and so much more: the unicorn. ~ |

~Lady of the Unicorns~ Lady of the unicorns tell me true, all of the wonder and magic of you, I look upon your beauty, so pure and fair, and wish your secrets you would share, Your eyes that sparkle with sheer delight, they rival the stars that shine in the night, Your spiral horn rising from your head. reflects the sunrise of pink and red, |
