| On Stage |
| Alone On an empty, barren stage Only the echo of my footsteps Bouncing above The empty seats that stretch before me But I can close my eyes And feel the magic Left from shows past I can breathe it in And I can imagine A full house A spotlight And me The familiar rush That drills into my nerves The hush that falls Over the audience The anticipationn Thick And heavy in the air The swish of the velvet curtains As they open And there I am Vulnerable under the glaring lights My heart beat loud My breathing slow and steady My emotions a whirlwind of power Which I use to capture those who listen I am home Basking in the acceptance Of applause I bow Wave And bow again Then I open my eyes And once again I'm alone On an emptry barren stage No sound No lights No audience Only me |
