Stars
Once upon a time I thought, "Hey I bet I could write a musical."  And I ever started to do it.  I was based on the poem "The Highwayman".  Then I kind of wrote this poem one day, and revised it to the point I could turn it into a song for that play.  I never finshed turning it into a song, but that's okay, I never finished the play either.
When stars on high,
   must leave the skies,
And the moon's silver glow,
dims and leaves the sky alone,
Now comes that lonely time,
when you live only in my mind.
All the day long,
   I think of our song,
Sung by me,
   from memories.
The sun's blazing light,
   shines far too bright,
Reminding me of a time,
when you lived out of my mind.
And as it looms on the west,
How my heart fills my breast,
I remember calling to you,
as you rode on night's dark blue.
Once again your here with me,
   if only in memory,
I close my eyes
as the stars fill the skies,
And dream of the one,
   who's brief life is done.
