A/N: This was written to fill a thematic gap between two other drabbles I was stringing together. Eventually I'll assemble a number of my assorted Severus-and-Minerva drabbles on one page, as they form sort of a neat arc, which was not my original intention.
Disclaimer: Harry Potter, Severus Snape, Minerva McGonagall, and all their associates are characters belonging to J.K. Rowling. I claim no rights to them, their surroundings, or their situations. Much to my sorrow.
Reacquainted
---
Leaving the meeting, Severus felt like he'd been released from an airtight box.
If he'd thought switching sides meant leaving his past behind, he'd been badly mistaken: every face reflected the knowledge of what he had been--still was, until proven otherwise.
Thus preoccupied, he nearly ran down the slender woman who briskly rounded the corner ahead. He backpedaled hastily, stammering an apology.
"Severus! I'd wondered when I would run into you."
He summoned a tentative smile. They were colleagues, now--how very strange. "Good morning, Professor McGonagall."
Her eyes were as kind as he remembered.
"Please--call me Minerva."
