  • Full Length Bio

Adrian Paul Hewitt was born May 29, 1959 in London, England. He was the first of three children, born to an Italian Mother and British Father.

While in high school, Adrian performed in several school plays including Shakespeare. He was also active in sports, especially soccer. Instead of graduating from high school at age 16, like most British teens, he stayed in school an extra two years to further his academic studies.

After graduating high school, Adrian worked a variety of odd jobs. Then his girlfriend submitted his photo to a magazine for a "Could Your Boyfriend Be A Model" contest. Adrian won and was introduced to one of London's top modeling agencies. So began Adrian's modeling career. He travelled throughout Europe modeling. After he returned to England, Adrian studied jazz and ballet.

In 1985, he left Europe and travelled to New York to pursue a career in dancing and modeling. He ran short on funds and was forced to move back to England. In late 1985, he headed back to the states, this time to Los Angeles where he was quickly cast as Nicolai in the television series "The Colbys".

During this time, Adrian began studying various forms of martial arts, including kung fu and karate.

In 1988, Adrian made his big screen debut in the movie Last Rites, starring Tom Berenger. Adrian went on to do several guest appearances on TV, and several low-budget movies. It wasn't until 1992 when Adrian landed the starring role in Highlander: The Series, that he gained international recognition.

He's used his popularity to establish his own fan club, PEACE, through which he promotes his personal philosophy of individual and world peace. There are several branches of PEACE - the PEACE APFC, his personally sanctioned fan club and PEACE charity which stands for Protect, Educate, and Aid Children Everywhere (see the Addresses section for the URL).

Since "Highlander: The Series" ended in 1997, Adrian has appeared in 4 movies: Convergence, Susan's Plan, Merlin: The Return and of course, Highlander: Endgame.
