The Shining Star Beneath the Sea ~ Asrai

Part of me is a faded blue--
   intellectual and shy, and serious too.
   Gentle and modest, as calm as the sea,
   working and studying, busy as a bee.
   Like a young bird, shivering with fright,
   scared to leave its nest, afraid to take flight.
   Frightened by affection, fearful of love,
   like an abandoned kitten or a mourning dove.
But deep inside there is another part,
   mysterious silver, like a shining star--
   opinionated, creative and dreamy,
   for sure a great artist soon to be.
   Sensitive, romantic, and emotional too,
   this side of me isn't afraid of l'amour.
   Enjoying each and every day of my life,
   loving every friend I have without strife.
I attempt to show both sides every day
   in whatever manner, in whatever way.
   Whether the shining star or the tranquil sea,
   they both are beautiful, wonderful me.
