1. Batholith

Is a large pluton, exposed over more than 100 square kilometers of
Earth’s surface.

2. Stock

Is similar to batholith but smaller, about less than 100 square
kilometers.

3. Plutonic Rock

Plutonic rocks crystallize from in the interior of the crust, which
are later exposed. Magma is insulated and slowly, allowing large crystals
to form. Most common plutonic rocks are from the granite family.

4. Pyroclastic rocks

Are rocks made up of liquid magma and solid rock fragments that were
ejected explosively from a volcanic vent.

5. Volcanic dust

Very fine particles of rock fragments, less than 0.25 mm in diameter.

6. Volcanic ash

Rock particles bigger than the volcanic dust, about the size of rice
grains.

7. Volcanic bombs

Large rock particles that are few centimeters to several meters in
diameter.

8. Cinders

Small volcanic bombs about the size of golf balls hurled out of
a volcano (4-32 mm).

9. Caldera

May formed when the top of a volcano collapses.

10. Lava plateau

A volcanic landform produced by repeated eruptions of very fluid,
basaltic lava that spreads over a wide area.

11. Lahar

Occurs when water-soaked volcanic ash and rock slide rapidly downhill.
