| My plans to study at NYU this summer have been postponed until
the summer of 2002 for financial reasons. So it's back to Maryland I go, to take Criminal Justice
at Towson University, to sleep, to straighten out my health. Of course, the cam will be on a good bit, projecting a lovely view of ... my empty bedroom. Ooh, fascinating. If you're lucky, you'll get to watch me sleep or rent movies. If you're REALLY lucky, you may be treated to a few hours of Jiggin' Jacob!
| I will also be attempting to sell some of my writing to magazines and newspapers to support my book-buying habit
! My main focus will be the negative influence of the media on children and adolescents, and perhaps
on society as a whole. If I have time, I would like to start some research on Maryland crime rates
within the past twenty years and try to figure out what the hell is happening to where we all grew up. For more practical reasons, I will be spending far too many hours in front of my computer, boning up on web design for my post as Webmaster of the Sociology/Anthropology department.
| Musically, it's hard to know where I'll go. Visions for the new album are beginning to coalesce, but so much is changing so quickly it is difficult to write. Hopefully I will get a chance to find the time, space, and emotional support I need in order to complete it, and be proud of the result. Some new songs I've been working on are "This Joyful Mess," available at mp3.com, two classical guitar instrumental pieces, and "Extricate" (a combination of acoustic guitars and electronic percussion). | |

Admittedly, I look forward to having all of my equipment in the same place once again! My goal would be to
finish a few of the songs while travelling, and at the very least have some demo material before I return
to EC here in the fall. And as for the most secretive project of all... I'd like to very soon begin work on a new novel. |
