Farewell to Loopy Lisa, and Rosanne Rosanadanna.
After her four year stint on Saturday Night Live creating wacky, endearing characters, Detroit Native Gilda radner met actor Gene Wilder while filming Hanky Panky in 1981, and they married in 1984. But then, she wrote in Its Always something, "the most unfunny thing in the world" happened: She was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer, which she battled for 2 1/2 years. After radner died at only 42 in 1989, Wilder helped establish the Gildas Club cancer support network. "Once again," said Radner's brother Michael, "Gilda is making people happy."
