The Orang-Utan Rehabilitation Centre at Sepilok, Sabah was started in 1964 to rehabilitate orang-utans which have been confiscated or displaced. It is located at the edge of the Sepilok Forest Reserve (area: 43 sq. km) and consists of largely undisturbed lowland dipterocarp forest - an ideal habitat for the orang-utans. |
