Physical description: He has sunlight blond hair that reaches slightly past his shoulders. He eyes are a bright emerald/forest/kelly green. You can tell from his eyes that there is no possible way he can be human. No humans has eyes that color unless they wear contacts.
He wears a green tunic with normal homespun shirt under it. Let's see....he has leather pants and boots. Of course he has a cloak,
Personality: Hope would be the dream man for many women and men. He has looks, intelligence, money, and a title. Lets not forget to mention the fact that he's polite, and your own mom would want him for herself. His personality is basically a 'Prince charming' type, but with a twist. He's sweet, wellbred, generous, kind, charming, diplomatic(to a fault), thoughtful, charismatic, polite, confident, romantic, you know the type. He naturally puts people at ease with his words.
His words are not the only thing that he uses on others. He will at times use a comforting touch on people. He likes touching people. Also he's natural at flattering people. This unforunately can lead him to trouble in more ways than one. Well starting out some people don't like to be touched or comforted. These people tend to instantly dislike him (example, Scimitar). Another problem with this is that Hope doesn't realize when enough flirting is enough. Therefore he flirts with everyone with even realizing it. Considering Scimitar's history, it freaks him out majorily. While Hope isn't gay or even bisexual he sure does come off as being that way at times. A lot of it is the fairy culture is very different from any other culture in the world I write. (And for those of you wandering, I do have a few lesbian and gay characters popping up throughout the story line. I blame that influencce on my life on my brother. He knew sincce he was a little boy that he wanted to be in a relationship with a male, not a female.) Hope does figure out in the story that he's doing it and learns not to do it because it bothers Cara to see him flirting with EVERYTHING. Near the end he mainly does it to upset Scimitar though.
He's not perfect though, far from it. He knocked up a neighboring kingdom's princess. The resulting child was a beautiful baby plotpoint...I mean girl. Her name is Faith and she HATES her father. After all he has never claimed her, and once she finds out about Cara...The child is 1/4 fairy, 1/8 demon, 1/8 elf, and 1/2 human. Her powers are teleportive like her father.
His main priority in life at the beginning, is doing what's right for his kingdom. He also wants to insure that the half breeds start being treated as wlel as the purebreeds among the elves and fairies. Of course he has two reasons for that. He is a half breed himself. He is also very interested in protecting his illegitimate child's life.
Hope's main responsibility is his job. What's his job prey tell? well the one he enjoys the most is being a forest guardian. Basically that puts him alone in a big forest all alone, protecting animals and the land from invaders. He doesn't mind this because he likes being alone. Once there he's away from the pressures of the fairy court.
He's the second in line for the fairy throne. He doesn't want it. You would think that would make him greatly loved. It isn't like that though. He was raised as an outsider to the fairy court. Since he is only a fourth fairy he is looked down on for not being a "pure" breed. While the other nobles do not care for him, the servants adored him. He doesn't tolerate unfairness towards people just because of a station they were born to in life. Stoppiong nobles from tormenting the local servants only made things worse for the young earl. Eventually he was given a castle in ruins. He has slowly brought it back to something passable as liveable. Along with that he has also helped out the local communities.
He believes he's a biproduct of a rape. He was raised with stories of how his father, Ghost, had kidnapped, and raped his mother in hopes of becoming a noble himself. The reality is.....well I'm not telling! :op Anyhow this helped to isolate him even more, not to mention gave him a negative self image.
Hope has problems with his right leg. Why? He can teleport, somethin that only a handfull of people know. It;s his most closely guarded secret. One day some miners were caught in a mine collapsing. He was able to teleport in, but at great cost. Not knowing where he was teleporting into, he teleprted blind. He accidently teleported part of his leg directly into a rock. This eventually caused an infection in his leg. He never really got over it. To this day his leg is his weak point.
Hope falls in love with Cara at first sight. She's nothing but perfect in his eyes. Even though God knows she has a hundred imperfections in her. he's scared to try anything on her though. He's scared he doesn't deserve her. he's terrified he'll hurt her like he thought his dad did to his mom for so many years. He thinks he's not pure or good enough for her. I could go on but I won't.
Weapons: He carries a long sword and parrying dagger and (as all elves do. he's the only one who's half demon and half fairy-elf)
Powers: Teleportation
Teleportation same dimention - He can teleport himself and others.
Dimentional doors - teleports himself and others to other dimentions.
