The Starry Night Sky
By: Thomas Borden

A million pin points of light
Shining in the black sky
A swirl of light and color
Rotating slowly as time passes by
Casting a soft glow, on this planet
Eternal as friends and love
So many eyes turn to the skies
Looking at the stars above
We all place some hope, some joy
So many prayers, dreams and wishes
From the oldest woman to the youngest boy

Each light in the heavens
A single thought from those on earth
And that special twinkle, a new glow
For each mortals birth

The distance to the stars is great
Our only means of travel
Our minds, and our souls
And what makes us journey
Every time we look into the night sky?
Is it something we are searching for?

The truth lies within ourselves
And could not be expressed in a million words
For each answer is as varied
As each person who walks this earth
And as endless as the stars above
