Although the Kennel name "Laceyline" Labradors is recent, the history
behind this goal goes back approximately 37 years. It is a hobby for
my husband and we really enjoy having Labradors in our lives.
Goofy? Maybe, but we consider them our kids.
Having grown up in rural Nothern Ontario, animals were naturally a very
large part of our lives. Dogs, horses, cats and livestock made life interesting and kept us busy all the time. It made for a very active life and solidified
animals as a contstant in our future. Even when we had to live in an apartment
for a short time we had a cat and birds.
I have bred and trained horses and dogs over the past 30 years. I believe that I can always learn from animals which makes them so interesting.
In 1988 we bought our first Labrador. We had moved into our first house
and we picked up the dog the day we moved in. He was a beautiful chocolate
and he was part of the family immediately. I competed in obedience with him and obtained his CD. We should have gone further but there wasn't a lot of training classes available at that time. In 1998 we lost him to cancer.
In 2000 we purchased a yellow female, Lacey, from Ashstone Kennels
and decided to start our own kennel.
Our Goal
Our goal is to produce healthy, sound puppies that reflect the structure of the Labrador breed standard. They shall have the friendly, outgoing, active and
when mature, couch potato personalites that Labradors are known for.
Each of our dogs has obtained their Canadian Championships, owner/handled.
