What do the Friends of the Lacey Library do?

Our goal is to aid the library staff in maintaining, promoting, and expanding the Lacey Timberland Library services to our community.  The library is tax-supported but there are many items that are not included in their budget.  Lacey Friends help provide some of these extras.

How do we provide extras?

  • We conduct 9 used books sales a year.  All money earned is available only for the Lacey Library.  All donated used books are checked by Friends each week before being offered for sale.
  • We underwrite some programs for children and young readers.
  • Extra reference books and library equipment are provided when possible.
  • Programs for adults, enriching our community, are arranged and financed by the Friends.  All programs are free.

Where?

Our 9 book sales are scheduled at the library from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the first Saturday of the month (with occasional unavoidable exceptions).  There are no book sales in January, July, and September.

General meetings are held once a month in the library meeting room on the second Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
