Delbert C. Janes Sr.
This will be my tribute to my father and my wonderful memories of him. Delbert C. Janes Sr. born 12/15/1937, died very unexpectedly at his home in McIntosh, NM on 5/20/2001.
I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that place at the close of day.

If my passing has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss.
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief;
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me free.

My father will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.  He was a loving husband, father, and friend.  He was a good friend to nature and all of God's little creatures.  If he took from the land then he always gave back two fold.
My love for my father can't be measured in time, distance, weight, or any other type of measurement.  My love for my father has no beginning and no ending.  Although he is no longer with us in physical sense, he will always be here in our hearts and our minds.  Every time I look out my window and see a bird, a tree, a flower, and yes even an insect, I think of my father still being here helping all of God's little earthbound critters.
My father is free now, and although I still shed many tears for his passing, I know that he is in a much better place.  I also know that he will always be here looking out for me even though I can't see him or touch him anymore.
I LOVE YOU DAD!!!!!
