Most commonly found as Sarah, we have found a reference to Timothy
Foote's wife being called Mary. Perhaps a second wife or just an error?
Sarah is found in the Foote, Garnsey and Northrup family histories as well
as other references.

244. JOHN SUTLIFFE was born 8 Mar 1713 in Durham, Middlesex, CT, USA. He died 27 Jan 1790. JOHN married MARTHA BASSETT on 9 Apr 1747. [Parents]

Remarks taken from the Sutliffe Genealogy: The Colonial Records of Connecticut
state that at a meeting of the General Assembly, Oct. 31, 1754, John Sutliffe
was established and confirmed to be Lieutenant of the Third company or
trainband in the town of Waterbury and it was ordered that he be commissioned
accordingly.
He was in Col. Elihu Chauncey's regiment at Crown Point in 1756. This
regiment served sixty=three weeks.
He was Lieutenant in Capt. Eldad Lewis' company during the Fort William Henry
alarm in 1757. At this time the militia marched away in the residue on foot.
Many subsisted themselves at their own expense on the march, and others at
public and private houses, also at small stores erected at certain stages on
the course. They went in too great haste to take blankets or knapsacks or
anything but the soldier himself and his firearms to the rescue.
So great was the risk of delay that the horses when no longer needed were
left to wander away and were taken up in New York and else-where months
afterward. By order of the government, these wandering horses were gathered
in, and even the Waterbury horses were returned to their homes.
In 1765, John Sutliff was confirmed as Captain of the new company or
trainband of Northbury (now Plymouth Conn.)
He was Deacon of the Congregational Church in Plymouth, Conn. from 1774-1787.

There is a question about Hannah's exact birthdate, one source giving it as
11 Mar 1647, making her much too old to be this Hannah.
