PLEASE NOTE: This is a list of items your vet MAY tell you to use in event of emergency.  Always contact your veterinarian before giving your animals any medication.  All medication can be dangerous, and you can KILL your pet by giving an overdose, the right medicine at the wrong time or the wrong medicine. ALWAYS contact your veterinarian.


You can make a  first aid kit from a  bright colored  tackle or tool box, with the veterinarian's phone number, emergency vet phone number and poison control phone number on the outside.  Contained within are:

tweezers
medicine syringe
bulb syringe
surgical scissors
dental floss
gauze bandage
adhesive tape
vet wrap
Q-tips
cotton balls
sanitary pads (as compresses)
rectal thermometer
rubber gloves
slip lead
muzzle
emergency blankets
can of soft dog food
styptic powder
buffered aspirin
burn gel
Panalog ointment
Variton cream
Cetaphil skin cleanser
Chlorhexi Derm flush
Otomax
ear drying solution
activated charcoal
Milk of Magnesia
eye wash
bag balm
KY jelly
Pepto Bismol
Benadryl
Alcohol
Peroxide
Iodine
dishwashing liquid
emergency gurney using two 6/8" dowels [3-4 ft dowels work fine] and heavy canvas rectangle rolled around each dowel, secured by hefty tack nails to the dowels - then rolled again and tacked again.   It stores nicely in the trunk or the back floorboard.
