A Puppymill Puppy

I remember the day I was born as though it was yesterday.I remember it was cold and I was so hungry,I crawled about unltil I found my mothers breast and latched on,but there was little milk and I had to fight my sibling for every drop that I got.Their were eight of us born into this cruel world,we were in a small,cold and wet place,my Mother later told me it was a cage made completely of wire with only a plastic roof and cardboard for shelter.As we got older we had less and less room,so one day a man came and took me and my five sisters to an old shed,he threw in some moldy scraps and slammed the door on us.We remained here for quite some time,growing into young adults,we were scraggly but fairly healthy.Finally when we were six months old the man returned,scooping us up he took us to seperate cages like the ones we were born in,It was terribly lonely so I was glad when he brought a male dog to keep me company,I didnt really like the male though because he was always trying to play games and they hurt me,so the man came and took him to visit one of the others.As th edays passed I aws sick alot and my tummy always hurt,though I couldnt figure it out I looked fat but got very little food to eat.One night as I was getting positioned to lay down I felt an awful pain run through my body,it hurt so bad I fell quickly to my side trying to ease it,this continued throughout the night,as the light started to show through the clouds I gave one moghty push hoping the pain would stop when out poped a squirmming little object that I later discovered to be a puppy!My puppy!As the day went on I gave birth to six little boys all whom looked just like me,I was happy because now I wasnt alone anymore,but soon my happieness faded,for we had no room to move and little to eat so I got very thin.Then the man came agian with a box he reached is getting my boys one at a time and putting them in the box,as I tryed to follow he pushed me back saying youll pay your way with these little runts,then he slammed the door shut in my face.As the years passed I had litter after litter,always the same the man would take them and I would never agian see them.I began to get sick from not having been fed the proper diet,my teeth were gone and my fur was very thin.
One day the man came with a box and opening my door he grabbed me stuffing me in with some others who to were getting older and not so healthy.He put us in a thing I later heard him call a truck.After awhile we came to a strange place where their were hundreds of other dogs,all cramped in boxes like the one we were in.there were also lots of men there to even small ones!there was one man though standing out in the middle of the rest,he was really loud as he waved his hands about he reached down and picked up dogs and puppys holding them in the air he would yell for awhile then say Sold really loud.We were there a long time before a man came and got us,taking us to where the loud man was he reached in grabbong me he hoisted me into the air,saying alot of stuff I didnt understand he pointed at a mean looking man and said Sold.I was then stuffed into another box with alot of other dogs,they were ill tempered and alot bigger than me so I was pushed to the back where there was no room and little air.I stayed this way for quite awhile until I became to weak to push,I lay down and closed my eyes taking one last long breath I became very still,Then there I was Standing in a beautiful Meadow young and full of life,I saw alot of other dogs running and playing,as I watched one little guy ran to me and said Welcome Home Mamma!Now Im home and never agian will I suffer through humans ignorance.Im safe now at the Rainbow Bridge.
