How to Write Angst
By La Bloody Rose
You may be asking yourself, or this page Why would I want to write angst? Im no Goth. Well, its not about Goth, its about helping yourself. Writing angst can help you relieve stress. How? Well, lets give an example..
Sam is feeling depressed. (Lets not give Sam a gender so that this could apply to all) Sams having relationship problems and Sam's significant other is being rather cruel. But, Sam is a nice person and doesnt want to hurt this other. But, the rage is building up and if Sam doesnt do anything Sam could go into self-mutilating and Sam could DIE!
Well, now, Sam could be writing angst to get Sam's feelings out. And Sam would also get great reviews and critique and improve Sams writing skills to pass the ELA.
Er, enough about why you should, heres how, or at least how I write angst.
1.Sit in a quiet place.
2.Play really sad music or watch a movie that has really angsty characters (I recommend the new JCS, seeing as it has implied slash and slash can be a base for angst-ridden stories.)
3.Think about something sad, like youre first puppy dying, or when your mom yells at you for failing a test.
4.Focus on the raw emotion, the fear, the hate, the despair, and even the mocking, gnawing feelings in the back of your head.
5.Get a notebook or a folder on your computer or a binder and start writing it out.
6.Write until the sadness is gone or until your hands get tired.
7.Publish your work on the internet, either on your own personal page or a website (I suggest Fanfiction.net for a website, and for a personal page, anything BUT Expage!)
8.Finally, repeat this again when youre depressed to help yourself cleanse the spirit and just get those negative feelings off your chest.
