The 1974 VW Bus
It isn't perfect, but it sure is fun!

A repaint does make a difference.
Although, it is not totally restored, it has won trophies in every event it has entered, and has been featured twice in VW publications.
ABOUT THE BUS:

We never expected to own a VW bus - having always leaned toward muscle cars and sports cars. Then one day my daughter traded in her Sidekick for this 1974 bus. It wasn't in bad shape, but then again it wasn't going to win any prizes for good looks. However, she thought it was the thing to have, especially since she took it up to a Phish concert soon after getting it. Amazingly enough it got there and back (thirteen hours in each direction - actually a lot longer on the return trip).
But, soon the bus was sitting in my driveway, and she had a new Golf for daily driving. We couldn't sell it because of its "birth date." When we looked into the original paperwork, this bus was first sold (born) on the same day as my daughter - 10/16/74. So, restoring it was the only option. It now has its body work completed, a rebuild of its engine, new clutch and brakes, and definitely new interior.
From what we felt was a "silly" investment, the little red bus has become a member of our family. Below are a few pictures, and also links to other bus websites (although - some of these sites tend to become inactive at times and have to be constantly updated.
