We keep various types of turtles and tortoises.  Among the species we have are stars, redfoots, yellowfoots, sulcatas, Hermanns, Greeks, elongatas, pancakes, and leopards.  These tortoises remain in our their "tortoise cottage" during the winter and are housed outdoors in pens in the late spring through early fall.

The box turtles that we have remain outdoors all year round, hibernating naturally during the winter months.  We house easterns, three-toeds, and Gulf Coast boxes.  We also have some hybrid younger box turtles that thrive outdoors.

In addition, we maintain a couple ball pythons, and fairly good number of leopard geckos.

Although we have a scientific holding permit so we can do research for articles and books, these are treating as pets (except that we try to house them as naturally as possible with minimal handling.

You can see more of our herps in the magazines in which our articles have been published (there just enough enough space on this site to include hoards of pictures - unfortunately).
Ir you keep chelonians of any species, it is extremely important that you aware of their needs.  If you have any doubts at all, the links below will offer information that will be very useful.  Turtle Times, the Tortoise Trust, and Kingsnake not only have a great deal of care sheets, but also links to other chelonian websites you should take the time to visit.
We will be including more photos regularly.
