SHOES--These special shoes have about an inch of
soft rubber on thier sole for traction on the ice.
BALL--The ball is made of a hard rubber and is usually about 5 inches in diameter.
STICK--It is broom shaped with either a wooden or aluminum shaft.
The head is made of a hard rubber.
HELMETS--Ice hockey helmets are used to provide vital
protection against injurys to the head.
PADS--Knee and elbow pads are used to provide protection against harsh contact with the ice. Some players use padding around the hips and rear to provide additional cushioning.
GLOVES--Protective gloves are worn to provide protection for the fingers and wrists. Usually hockey gloves are worn, but other gloves can also be used. (example: soccer goalie)
