This Christmas night is like a dream
Cast by endless fairy-tales,
The world looks like a Christmas tree
Dotted with lights and snowflakes.
This Christmas night I'll make a wish,
And with all little girls on earth
I'll listen to the howling wind
And write to Old Santa Claus.
This Christmas night he's not with me,
And I will write all night long
