A Foolish Love Letter
I'm going to write a letter, The sweetest letter for him, And to express my feelings better I'll use the words from poetry.
Oh, yes, a foolish love letter, An excuse to write to him, Its content doesn't really matter As he knows how I feel.
I'll take my big dictionary, And all sonnets of Shakespeare To make it extraordinary, To make it smooth and ideal.
I will go to the library And read a few thousand books Choosing the words deliberately, Memorizing grammar rules.
"Roses, angels, sweethearts, Magnificent, magic, sweet..." Oh, dictionaries aren't enough To express my love for him.
"To hope, to adore, to be blessed, The stars, the full moon, the sun..." Dictionaries are so useless When you are truly in love.
Long elevated words with rhymes Brought certain people fame and work, But high poetry is a waste of time If it's written for a reward.
Powerful, solemn, but dead words, Lonely shadows of the past, They can't be compared with live thoughts Brought by the beauty of love.
Don't read old books covered with dust, Don't try to write like Shakespeare, Only what is written from your heart Is truly unique and real.
I'm going to write a letter, The sweetest letter for him, And to express my feelings better I'll choose the words from my dreams. |
