Assignment (by Mr. Voress, Photography Teacher): Create a news story based on the pictures you take with a digital camera. The story may be fiction or non-fiction.
Collette's Input: The examples Mr. Voress showed up consisted of Non-Fiction- some sports coverage of the local girls soccer game, and fiction- the cafeteria food is poisoned. Those examples lacked the pizazz I normally aim for which gave me inspiration for the "Sleepy Hollow" story.
Is that pumpkin on your head real?
Yes, in fact, I threw out that pumpkin after Halloween in the empty lot beside my house. It was still there in December when I used it for this project. It was falling apart from moisture so it had to be sewn up with twine in some areas. I think that added to the effect somewhat. And if you haven't caught on, that is me as the headless horseman, there aren't to many people who'd stuff a rotting pumpkin on their head.
Shuhei, my photography partner, and I got an A on it. Mr. Voress loves "The Nightmare Before Christmas" and other Tim Burton movies, but I think my project freaked him out still.
The final product. The story is really lame. The main focus was the pictures. The "decapitated victim" at the bottom is my brother. It took awhile to get the "blood" off of our front porch.
