Let me add this right here. Leaving Monticello on Old 27 you come to New 27. Cross the bridge going north and look for Old 27 to continue on the right in a bit. I somehow got on Dexter Road and somehow got back on New 27. The historical marker was on New 27. From Louisiana to here, I'd been in Choctaw country. Do you know what tribe's country you're in?
27 rolls into Georgetown. The last time through I was only interested in the gas station. This time I got off the main road and went looking. The large building below is the Georgetown Bank, RIP.
Below is some more of downtown including the Blue and White Grocery, RIP.
Amidst the melancholy I only imagined how the old steam engine was faring. It's great to be wrong, again. She has had a complete face lift including a new fence. She had had gaping rusted holes in the tender and they were gone. Whoever the individual or group responcible must be commended.

Before
It was time to turn this outing south. I had been traveling in somewhat familiar territory and it was time to check out some unfamiliar. I headed out of Georgetown on MS 28 headed east. I knew a bridge was imminent as the Pearl River was also imminent.
What a beauty. I needed to get below her and take a picture of her and the river. I found the Georgetown boat launch. RIP.
The ride down was worth the effort. Jac'kal moaned. Actually moaned.
The Pearl is a beautiful river, appropriately named.
I have more. Just ask J.K.
