Bridge to Nowhere
Turn <<
I was now turned south down La.182. It was still early and I had plenty of time to explore. George Buller Road came up and I went down.
This building could have been built yesterday, except for one thing. Those door are not sold at Lowe's. Well, it still could have been built yesterday. The doors could be recently added, witness the new looking henges. Thinking closer is important and harder to do.This is right at the Boeuf Bridge, this time a concrete thing of no beauty whatsoever.
The new bridge did have a purpose. It led to some homes. I saw a few names that struck me. What I saw later would remind me of them. Look at the map above, notice "Charles", "Mott", "Glaze". Above and below are more pictures of the Boeuf. Notice the log jams. These jams made the Boeuf an unreliable means of transportion south from Bunkie. When the rails came, the Boeuf was forgotten. Remember the disclamer.
