Cooyan wrote me and said his wife had come got him from the Basin. She was tired of his disappearing on a regular and irregular basis.  She wanted him to take her somewhere and not to the Basin where he knew where to  hide.  Cooyan, knowing which side his quasant was buttered on, decided he better buckle down and take the family somewheres with running water.
He wrote me and axed what I knew about out west.  I told him I would find the perfect place for him and his family. Now, Cooyan has 13 kids, so I had to think big. I thought. And, I thought. Then, I thought of Toledo Bend Lake. It is big.  I sent him a map and if he didn't find it and do good. Well, except for one small matter.
These are the pictures he sent back.
Cooyan takes a picture of his boat from the road.
Cooyan takes a picture of his boat from the balcony. In his note he said it was high like the levee.
I guess I have to go meet him.
              That Cooyan.
He told me he'd found this pier but there wasn't a ramp there. He had just lauched the boat off the shore by that motel after he'd cut that wire.
Heaven knows he has enough kids to push it off.
And, that the dirt was hard like a rock in a lot of places around that lake.
His  wife sent me these pictures and his note. She asked if I could go get him. He still hadn't found a ramp and he wasn't leaving his boat.  She asked me to hurry since the grass was getting  high and she was tired of mowing.
I'll tell  you what. Here's a map. You go get him.
He's out there somewhere.
Home
Or go see where Cooyan lives most of the time.
Or take a ride with me to Stephenville.
