It wasn't large, but the doors were open and if things got bad, I might stay a while.
  There was a house across the street. It wasn't totally in the middle of nowhere. Yes it was.
That storm was making any exposed place "Nowhere" to be.
Very sad.
Down here life has been, and still can be, very hard.
Many of these people live half their working lives offshore. It is a dangerous life of confinment.
Doing what you have to do is the ticket to survial, like anywhere, but it is different in the swamp.
     The storm moved on. After getting home I noticed the "S" in the sky. I did get dumped on between Houma and Morgan City. It was a short "white out".  I could still see the bridge railing come and go. If you head down there in the summer, be prepared for rain. Heavy monsoonal rain. At 3:00 PM. Set your clocks.
