Hello and welcome to Carnival of Desires. We're glad that you're wanting to come roleplay here and let us welcome you to our room. There are just a few things that need to be done before you can officially play in CoD.
1. Look over the website and learn about Carnival of Desires. If you haven't read the Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter Series by Laurel K. Hamilton it would be a good idea to speak with someone who has, so that you can get an idea about the room. Reading the books is NOT a requirement of roleplaying here but it will help when things get confusing. And it WILL get confusing.
2. Make sure you're up to date on the message board's. We may post something vitally important to the roleplay and if you do not read the message board regularly, you'll have no idea what is going on. It is important that you always read the Announcements.
3. If you're not sure what kind of character you want to start with, talk to someone in the room and find out what all is being played also you can look over the website and see what most appeals to you as a typist. There are always going to be people willing to help you out if it's needed. CoD is a good room and there are a lot of great people roleplaying here. Take the time to get to know them and you won't regret it.
4. Check out the Celebrity Personas Used list on the Message Boards. It's VERY IMPORTANT that you do, so that you will know which celebrities are being used in the room. A lot have been taken but there are a zillion more out there that are not being used. I doubt we'll ever have a shortage of celebrities and if you look long enough, you'll find one that fits your character perfectly. If you need help finding someone to use, ask someone in the room and I'm sure they'd be glad to help. If you need someone to make an avatar for you there are people in the room that are excellent at creating beautiful avatars for characters in CoD. Just go into the room and ask if there is someone that can help you (Or post a thread on the board asking for help).
5. This is an ADULT roleplay room. An adult qualifies as someone either 18 years of age or above. If you are not an adult then don't waste your time coming here. It is also the SITE RULES and Site Rules state that no one under 18 can chat at Creativity Chat because of adult content. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. IF we find out that you are under 18 and roleplaying in CoD, you will be removed from the room and the Site.
6. Carnival of Desires and roleplay in general is supposed to be a time when the typist can sit back and enjoy their time on the computer. Please do not bring any out of character problems into the roleplay, and if something doesn't go your way in roleplay, please do not drag it out of character. IC is meant to stay IC and OOC is meant to stay OOC. It's less stressful on everyone that way. If you cannot separate one from the other, then you have no business even roleplaying.
7. NO GOD MODING. This means that you cannot create an all powerful character and excpect to be able to come in and take over everything and kill whomever you want. Our room does NOT work that way. It is a NO KILL ZONE (There are some exceptions to this rule.) Do not expect to come in as a newbie and automatically be able to kill whomever you want, especially if it's an already established character. Get a little time in the room under your belt then the RP can go that way.
8. Avatars/Images: the limits first and foremost for this room are 450 Pixels Tall in Height, and 600 Pixels Wide in Width, nothing exceeding that. As for content,images that are believeable for this the Anitaverse, no Aliens, Dinosaurs, Spaceships, etc. As for Nudity, nothing graphic, that you please make it as tasteful as you can.
9. As for having multiple characters we welcome you to do so.
10. This is -NOT- Gorean RP, there are themes of BDSM in the series, however that does not mean Gorean RP. We want you to understand this before coming in. Any BDSM RP, we ask that you take it to Private Whisper. We want you to have fun here, however this RP is based on Modern Times, and having your character walking around in public with a collar and leash wearing no clothing, would get you arrested in the RP setting (just like today in reality). As for OOC, we ask that you take such to Private Whisper.
