Welcome to Carnival of Desires, when you venture into the whispered areas of reality, the deviant dark side of Los Angles begins. Come, step into a world similar to ours, but with a dark malign twist upon thing. Los Angles, as you know it, has irrevocably twisted and changed, the world is longer as you remember it.

Vampires, werewolves and other preternatural creatures roam and stalk the streets and darkened alleys of the fabulous and famed City of Angles; Los Angles. A city teaming with Vampires, werewolves and whole hordes of other shapeshifters and spellcasters. Ancient vampires with awesome powers stalking through the night, and vicious lycanthropes running in large packs hunting by the full light of the moon, death is possible but never certain. A silver bullet can kill vampires and shapeshifters as easily as anyone else.

This is our world after the infamous landmark Supreme Court descision of: Addisson v. Clark. A ruling that gave vampires citizenship within the United States. Exicutioners can no longer simply hunt down and exterminate the undead for the thrill of the hunt, now it is considered murder. Vampires have civil rights and Lycantrhopes are classified as victims of a disease.

Carnival of Desires is a graphical chat roleplaying game set in the City of Angles; Los Angles. The Role Play setting of Carnival of Desires is based on the world created by Laurrell K Hamilton's best selling Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series, within the City of L.A. and the Carnival itself. There is a large cast of characters in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter novels, and they are an in depth and absorbing read that is highly recommended. Reading the books is not a requirement for role playing in Carnival of Desires, but it is HIGHLY recommended. The books give you a better feel for the realm of the Anitaverse in which Los Angles', Carnival of Desires is set.

The role playing is quick to learn because there is no 'real' rules system to learn. Take a tour of our website, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact anyone in the room and we'll be happy to answer them for you. If you wish to bring in your charcter to Carnival of Desires, all we ask is you understand the basic Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series information. Read over the rules, so you knwo what is expected in CoD.

Make sure you're up to date on the message board's and that you have read all the important policy threads. We may post something vitally important to the roleplay and if you do not read the message board regularly, you'll have no idea what is going on. It is important that you always read the new posts, to keep up to date on the message board.

If you're not sure what kind of character you want to start, you might talk to someone in the room and find out what all is being played or you can look over the website and see what most appeals to you as a typist. Make sure to check out the Celebrity Costumes list on the Character Center message board. It's VERY IMPORTANT that you do, so that you will know which celebrities are being used in the room.

In Order to Play in Carnival of Desires

1. Observers are always welcome. Do not disrupt roleplay. Feel free to PM any Moderator or Section Leader and ask questions.

2. This is NOT a Gor or Gor oriented room. NOT a BDSM or BDSM Related room. It may NOT be raided, players can NOT be captured and taken to other rooms and only members of Carnival of Desires who have submitted a character sheet are valid for roleplay.

3. This room is based primairly on Laurel K. Hamilton's works. However, White Wolf's, World Of Darkness, Anne Rice, Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong, Underworld, Blade and other fiction is available for use.

4. This is an adult oriented game, an adult qualifies as someone either 18 years of age or above. There is the possibility of adult themes and situations. It is also the SITE RULES and Site Rules state that no one under 18 can chat at Creativity Chat because of adult content. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. IF we find out that you are under 18 and roleplaying in CoD, you will be removed from the room and the Site.

5. This is a NO KILL/FORCE FEED/FORCE ANYTHING YOU HAVE THE POWER TO FORCE room Unless you are a MEMBER.

6. If you like what you see and want to play, you must go to the Message Board and submit a character sheet.

7. Avatar sizes are limited to 600 pixels in width 450 pixels in height. The avatars themselves must fit the theme of the room - meaning no spaceships, dinosaurs and other lovely things. And please, keep it tasteful - meaning tasteful nudity in black and white ONLY, and no groin shots.
