HIGH VOLTAGE PSU
BACK TO PROJECTS
Recently I got the second MOT (I had one), so I built a nice dual MOT source, for my experiments with tubes and ignition coils. Runs perfectly and stay cool. 12 kV possible with a doubler.

SPECS:
- 2 different MOTs (220/2200 V and 220/2000 V) with primaries in antiparallel (pay attention to the correct phasing) and secondaries in serie.
- current limited with a 250 VA ballast coil from a high pressure Hg lamp
- 0-250 vac input from a variac
- 0-4800 vac output at 50-60 mA (up to 120 mA with a second ballast in parallel with the first).
