![]() Well folks, I went to Segovia on Sunday and to Zamora yesterday. Today has been the first day that it hasnt snowed at some stage. Well I didnt see it snowing at any stage. It was very, very cold in Segovia but the place was amazing. Ill put the pictures up as soon as possible. As I sit here typing this, it has just started raining. Predictable I suppose as it has been cloudy and grey all day. But now I have to walk home in the wet. YUCK! Anyhow, back to the original topic. Segovia was lovely, a real rabbit warren though. I met some nice foreign students on the trip. We made quite a group, an Aussie, Italian (Laura), German (Martina) and a Romanian (Yulia). Laura, the Italian, managed to get us back to the meeting place by 7pm though the back roads, although the rest of us really had no idea where we were going. She had my map, but I never saw her look at it once... Then yesterday Laura, Yulia and myself took ourselves off to Zamora, we were intending to go to Avila but the bus timetable was not in our favour. It was snowing something shocking in Zamora. And here is one for all those Queenslanders out there: I saw a palm tree covered in snow! I should have taken an photo when I first saw it, except it was too bloody cold to do anything but keep walking straight ahead and when we returned the snow had all fallen or melted. Snow and palm trees... Not a normal sight. Oh and the people in Zamora take their religion very seriously. It seems that, unlike the rest of the western world, the big religious festival here is Easter (Santa Samana) and not Christmas. The people in Zamora take their Easter parades VERY seriously. Covering my slightly strange day that I had today, I got stopped by a TV crew interviewing young people I think and was asked about the political state of Spain. *Frowns* It was very strange, I did explain that I was a student, didnt study political science, and Australian and had no idea about the political situation in Spain... But hey, anything is News nowadays I suppose. ![]() : Home : : Guide : : Journals : : Gallery : : Lozza's Lists : : Email : |
