Welcome to my webpage! Lozza is now off to Oslo!
This webpage has been developed for the viewing pleasure of my friends and family while I'm in Spain (you've got to admit that it beats the hell out of mass emails) so if you are here then you must have some sort of interest in my pathetic existence.

There is a menu down the bottom of this page with all your options.

Home is obviously this page while Guide is a guide to all the funny expressions and pictures which I have been using in my journal. Journal will take you to the index page of my journal and the gallery is a collection of pictures compiled for your viewing pleasure. Lozza's Lists is a collection of top ten lists that I have compiled during my time away and email will send an email my way. Finally clicking on the lovely picture of the book below will allow you to view my guestbook, once you get there you can also sign it.

I suppose for those of you who don't know me so well, I should introduce myself. My name is Lozza (well it's not really but that's what I've been called since I was 6 - except by my parents who hate the name, but then that's parents for you) and I'm a student at the University of Queensland in Australia where I study Engineering and Languages.

So how did I end up in Spain?

A flight to London (stop over of 3 hours in Singapore) and then a connecting flight to Madrid, pretty ordinary actually. As for the actual process of getting here... Well that took a little more work. To be precise about 4 months of worrying whether or not I had been accepted by la Universidad de Salamanca (which I found out about the week before final exams - mid-way through November), a lot of stress over monetary matters and even more over my visa application... And then there was the packing. I could list the entire contents of my suitcase, but I think that could potentially be boring (both for me to write and for you to read) so I'll just mention the important parts:

  • My HUGE English-Spanish Oxford Dictionary - all 3kg of it,
  • My copy of 'El Hobbit' - yes it's 'The Hobbit' in Spanish,
  • And my Wookie coat - yes this is a Star Wars reference.
For those of you who don't travel much, or haven't travelled recently, perhaps I should mention that international passengers only have a 20kg limit, so my dictionary alone is almost a sixth of the entire weight allowed for baggage in the hold. Not only that, it takes up a huge amount of room in my suitcase, so does my Wookie coat. To say the least packing was hell, and I'm not sure I really want to know what is going to happen when I try to pack to come home. Anyhow, enough about my woes, if you want to hear more about them head over to the Journals or alternatively you can look at the pretty pictures I have so far in the Gallery.
