The few pictures of I-70 on these pages don't begin to tell the story. We couldn't get pictures of the river
gorges -- they are too huge and you are in them too quickly to grasp what's happening. They are breathtaking, often accompanied by paved bike trails,
aspens, evergreens, towering cliffsides, snow fields ... and then
comes the desert, here, which is equally majestic!
If you've never
traveled I-70 from Denver to Green River, you've missed something
wonderful. If you should travel this far, sneak a detour at Cisco
and take Route 128 south to US 191, then slip a little north to
Arches National Park. You won't be disappointed. Be prepared for
sun and wind and a great treat for your senses.
