Grand Marais, day 31

Thunder Bay has the feel of a large city. We're glad we've stayed mostly in smaller cities. We've met some really nice people and seen some beautiful things.

We are surprised that Minnesota not only has cross-country skiing, but down-hill skiing, too -- on real hills. Had we time, we would have spent a few days in Grand Marais.

We enjoyed another walk, this one to Artist's Point, a little piece of land, complete with forest and hill, that juts out into Lake Superior. We walked the concrete harbor barrier out to one of the little lighthouses. Such a picturesque town. We read more about the Lake Superior hiking, biking, and snow trails.
