This 'specials' page gives you details of projects I'm currently working on to create a bit of variation in labs.

Lamuts
Originally these guys were just going to be labs bred with a hexed file in, but thanks to Laura at the Glade (or naturenut at tps) I got my baby Warbler and found that he was a mixed breed of lab and mutt. Well, thought I, it wont do to have him mixing with hexie filed labs. So I set about breeding some of my own, using a mutt baby named Sophie and one called Scruff from the adoption centre and my labs Crazy and Watermelon. 3 generations later I was getting exactly what I was after. And what that was is labradors with mutt markings, sort of like the tamsins (is that spelt right?). I call them lamuts because, well, I think it's pretty obvious why and you have to call them something right? The aim is just to add a bit more variety to the lab, give it a new appeal to people who don't like the solidness of it's colour. Here's an example of a lamut. You can see more on my crew pages and the adoption pages. I might try to work some dali spots in there too. As far as I'm aware Laura and I are the first ones to do this so it should be fun to see if people like them. Someone did email me about their own version the Sparklers but I've lost the email, and I think they've since stopped.

When breeding lamutts it can be quite hard to tell the lab and mutt body apart. Labs have a much smoother top line and a broader chest, and look much nicer. As a tip for breeding in the first generation don't look for a perfect example, a mutt tail, or legs, or ever head are ok to pass on to second gen as long as the one you breed them with has opposing lab features.

Labradoodle's
The labradoodle is an overwriting breed I hexed that is basically a lab body with poodle ears and texture and a spaniel style face blaze. Again this was created to bring in a bit more variety to the site. I have two original labradoodle's from the first file I hexed with spots and textures but any up for adoption on this site will be my normal labradors bred with the labradoodle file in.

Hexies
Yes these can go here too. I have about 3 lab hexies now, not including my doodle's so I felt the deserve a mention. On the specials adoption page I may post hexies for adoption because I like hexing and I like labs, I may as well combine them.

Lab line
I am also working on my own lab line starting from scratch with petz from the adoption center. I'm at generation 5 at the moment so half way there. When it's complete I may give it its own page or I may just add the ones I keep to my originals crew page. I put this here because I have no where else to put it and it's still part of my labbie life after all. Here's one of the labz that's part of the new line.

There will be more lab 'specials' to come as I'm working on new idea's all the time. Including non-hexed labradoodles, spotty labs and short legged labs.
